Just a few days ago she was pictured carrying a huge bump, with a pained expression on her face.

So it was only a matter of time before Carly Zucker gave birth and yesterday was the special day for Joe Cole's wife.

The 25-year-old WAG was admitted to The Portland Hospital in London early on Thursday evening, where she gave birth to the couple's first child, a girl weighing 6lb 3oz, following a labour lasting 16 hours.

In an exclusive interview with HELLO! magazine last November, fitness trainer Carly explained that she and Joe knew they were having a girl and they were thinking of calling her Scarlett.

However, a source close to the couple told the magazine that they have yet to decide on a name.
'It was a long labour but Carly is fine,' the source added.

She was pictured leaving Stamford Bridge football ground earlier this week after watching husband Joe Cole's team Chelsea lose to Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Clearly on the verge of going into labour, her huge bump was clearly evident under her bright pink top.

With Chelsea star Joe's future at the club currently up in the air, the new baby could be starting her life in a northern city, with Manchester United and Liverpool both interested in signing the midfielder.

Joe is in negotiations with manager Carlo Ancelotti to extend his contract with the Premiership side, which is up at the end of this summer.

But Ancelotti said he still believes he will stay with the west London club and added: 'He will stay at Chelsea next year, of that I am 100 per cent clear. He will be in the squad for next year.'
