Ouch, that hurt! Diana Vickers gets walloped in the face by friend in back of taxi

Kerpow: Diana Vickers gets an accidental punch in the face by her friend as they leave the Glamour magazine Awards in London last night

Diana Vickers, who earned herself the nickname of 'the claw' is normally the one with the wondering hands.

But last night it was her friend's hand which went astray when she accidentally punched the former X Factor star in the face.

The 18-year-old was left clutching her eye after the blow, while her pal, looking far from concerned, just sat their laughing.

Clearly the encounter was merely an innocent clomp and nothing more than clumsy ambling around in the back of a taxi.

The incident happened as Vickers left the Glamour Awards in London, leaving her hippy chick attire firmly in the back of the wardrobe after turning out looking very grown-up and sophisticated.

Earlier, the X Factor semi-finalist, 18, posed on the red carpet in a short, strapless and ruffled blue dress that looked perfect on her tiny frame.

Her hair had been twisted up into a glamorous knot that accentuated her slender face and neck and she accessorised with a long, beaded, neo-ethnic necklace by Erickson Beamon.

Her make-up had been carefully thought out too, her smooth complexion highlighted by the 1960s-style black eyeliner and red lipstick that gave her a sexy pout.

But the delicate outfit, by designer Yong, didn't exactly work with the clumpy black heels that unfortunately made her slender legs look really skinny.

Diana, 18, was among the guests at the Glamour Awards 2010 in London last night, and rubbed shoulders with stars such as Lily Allen, Kelly Rowland, Florence Welch and Avatar star Zoe Saldana.

The night also gave Diana the chance to catch up with Cheryl Cole who mentored her during the X Factor in 2008 along with Alexandra Burke who went on to win.

Cheryl was the guest of honour at the event and was given the coveted award for Woman of the Year.

The night also gave Diana the chance to celebrate after seeing her debut album, Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, get to number one last month, selling 35,951 copies in the first week of release.

Her debut single Once also did well when it was released in April and also shot straight to the top spot.

Diana was also recently revealed as the support act for Scouting For Girls's gig at Thetford Forest in Norfolk in July.
