Going on safari, Catherine? Zeta-Jones wears khaki outfit to combat New York heat

By Daily Mail Reporter

Safari time: Catherine Zeta-Jones arrived for her Broadway play wearing khaki trousers, wedges, a cream shirt and a safari-style hat

She looked more like she was going on safari than arriving at a New York theatre.

But yesterday Catherine Zeta-Jones attempted to combat the heat in Manhattan by wearing an airy khaki-style outfit as she arrived to perform in A Little Night Music on Broadway.

However, instead of looking cool and stylish, Zeta-Jones ended up following in a string of recent fashion disasters.

The 40-year-old actress seems to have earned a name for herself as somewhat sartorially-challenged over recent months, and this latest outfit will do little to redeem her already damaged fashion reputation.

On Sunday, the actress appeared to have taken inspiration from Munch's famous Scream painting for her latest fashion disaster frock.

The Welsh actress appeared in the swirly multi-coloured outfit, complete with floppy hat and black ballet pumps as she left her New York apartment earlier today.

But Zeta-Jones could be forgiven for some of her outfit choices, as she is having to balance performing in a Broadway show seven nights a week with caring for the two children she has with husband Michael Douglas.

‘When I did it 20 years ago, I had no children. I had no husband. I had no life,’ she told website Broadwayworld.com.

“I used to drive my Mini to the theatre, get there, do the show, drive the Mini back home.
