Will Kate be Wills' lady in waiting much longer?

By Katie Nicholl

Next? Prince William and his long-standing girlfriend Kate Middleton who met at St Andrews' University

It was the place they first met and holds happy memories of their early courtship.

But when Prince William, 27, and his long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton, 28, returned to the Scottish university town of St Andrews yesterday it was to celebrate the union of another couple.

The pair arrived at St Salvator’s Chapel for the wedding of their friend and former flatmate Oli Baker to Mel Nicholson.

They were one of the last in their inner circle to wed and speculation is growing that it won’t be long before William and Kate announce their own engagement.

Meanwhile as a princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton is renowned for being the model of decorum but there is a lesser known wild side to Prince William's girlfriend

Nuptials: Oli Baker and Mel Nicholson tied the knot

Kate was spotted dancing on a podium and waving her arms around to disco music at London nightclub Raffles on Wednesday night.

With Prince William nowhere to be seen Kate, 27, joined her friend Astrid Harbord for a Children's Trust charity bash.

'Kate was surrounded by boys who kept putting their arms around her and twirling her around,' one of their friends says.

'At one stage The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air theme song came on and Kate saw the funny side when everyone sang the lyric, ''Looked to my kingdom I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air''.'

Kate was wearing a bright orange silk top with skinny jeans and stayed out sipping champagne until 4am.

It was a marked contrast to last weekend when she joined William at his rented farmhouse in Wales.

Kate, who plans to spend long weekends in Anglesey, where he is completing his helicopter training, was spotted grocery shopping at McColl's convenience store in Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales.

According to the store's deputy manager: 'The Prince and Kate were just like any normal couple. There were a few shoppers in the store and they couldn't believe it.'

The Duchess of York is planning a reality television show to save her from financial ruin following the news that she is being sued for £200,000 in unpaid bills.

The format is still in the early stages, but insiders say Sarah Ferguson, 50, is already in talks with American network NBC.

'Sarah needs the money,' says a source. 'She's not come up with the format yet but she has taken the idea to the producers.

'She is also planning a television series on the lives of Queen Victoria's children. Her dream is to crack America and she thinks the best way to do it is a show on what Royalty is really like.'

Princess Eugenie is determined to run in next year's London Marathon after big sister Beatrice's success last week.

Eugenie, 20, was so proud she threw a party at St James's Palace for Bea, 21, and 40 of their friends who raised £200,000 for charity.

Achievement: Princess Beatrice ran the London Marathon and inspired her little sister Eugenie to compete next year

'Bea and her Team Caterpillar finished in 5hrs 13min and Eugenie is determined to be part of next year's team,' says a friend.

'Afterwards the whole team went to a pub in Green Park where they spent £1,000 at the bar before finishing off with a party at the palace. It was a real knees-up but Beatrice was asleep by 11. She was exhausted.'
