This is definitely not the sort of behaviour we'd expect from the ever-dignified supermodel Heidi Klum.

But clearly the excitement of being part of one of the biggest post-Oscars party had become all too much for her - so she decided to take off her knickers.

Klum was a guest at Sir Elton John's annual AIDS Foundation Oscar party and had arrived looking elegant and dazzling in her Julien MacDonald gown.

But just a few hours later, all her grace appeared to go out of the window when she was approached by Ross Matthews, the reporter for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Matthews, 31, was inside the party, the first time he'd been given access beyond the red carpet outside.

The reporter decided to go from celebrity guest to celebrity guest asking them to contribute something for a goody bag for Leno.

Jamie Foxx handed over sunglasses, whch Matthews eyed up and said: 'I'm so not giving those to Jay.'


Glee star Jane Lynch offered her Visa card - which 'unfortunately' had a $2,000-per-day limit, and Hayden Panatierre gave a napkin with her lip print on.

But Heidi, 37, decided she would give the chat show host something a little more personal.

After Matthews stopped to ask her, she rooted through her tiny clutch bag and said: 'I don't have a lot in here that I can give you.'

But then she added: 'Oh, you can have my underwear. Wait, do you want my underwear?', before she wriggled out of her G-string.

She then dropped it in the bag as Matthews laughed and said: 'Jay will like that.'

Thankfully, husband Seal, who had accompanied her to the party, was out of sight when she behaved in the unladylike fashion.

She was almost outdone by former Beverly Hills actress Tori Spelling who said: 'If I had a glass of wine, I'd be so tempted to take my crotchless spanx off right now.'

Matthews then advised her she might want to consider underwear if she's going to stand on mirrored floors in future.

A triumphant Colin Firth returned home to England yesterday following his Oscar win.
The actor, 50, looked happy to be back in London after his long-haul flight from Los Angeles.

Accompanied by his Italian wife Livia Giuggioli, Firth was wheeling a small suitcase behind him - presumably containing his gold Academy Award - through Heathrow's Terminal 5.

No doubt Firth would have kept his precious Oscar on the plane with him rather than entrust it to baggage.

His wife Livia, 41, looked thrilled to be back in the UK, writing on her Twitter: 'Sooo nice to be home.'

As well as being able to enjoy their home comforts at their Chiswick, South-West London, home, the couple will also be able to spend more quality time with their two children Luca, nine, and Matteo, seven.

Over the past few months, Firth has travelled back and forth between the U.S. and Europe, attending premieres of The King's Speech and award ceremonies.

Prior to his triumph at Sunday's Hollywood ceremony, he has also picked up a Bafta, Golden Globe, a Screen Actors' Guild award and the British Independent Film Award for Best Actor, among many others.

But Firth is unlikely to get too much time to recover - he's due to resume filming on his latest movie Michael Winterbottom's The Promised Land in Israel.

He also has several more films in the pipeline, including Gambit and Stoker.

After losing out to Melissa Leo in the best actress category, the 44-year-old was clearly ready to go home.

Unable to force a smile, he British actress walked through the terminal hiding her face with a pair sunglasses.

Perhaps she was a feeling a little bit tender - after all, she and her co-stars had been up until the early hours celebrating their best picture Oscar.

Natalie Portman swapped red carpet glamour for practical maternity wear today following her triumphant night at the Academy Awards.

The 29-year-old, who is pregnant with her first child, kicked off her high heels for comfortable flats as she celebrated her best actress win with a low-key breakfast in Los Angeles.

She was joined by Black Swan choreographer Benjamin Millepied at Square One Dining in Los Angeles.

The star admitted this week that she was looking forward to putting her feet up after the awards season.

'Staying at home with messy hair in sweats... is the biggest luxury of all,' she said.

Last night Portman paid tribute to her fiancé for giving her the 'most important role of her life' during her acceptance speech.

During a tearful moment, the actress paid tribute to her friends, family and co-stars and described her win as 'insane'.

Fighting back tears, Portman thanked her parents, Avner and Shelley Hershlag, for 'giving me my life, the opportunity to work from such an early age and showing me how to be a good human being by example'.

Looking lovingly at Millepied, a ballet dancer, she thanked her 'beautiful love' and said he had 'given me the most important role of my life'.

A little early to celebrate: Anne Hathaway and James Franco ended their Oscars hosting gig triumphantly


Punching the air triumphantly at the end of the Oscars ceremony, it was clear that Anne Hathaway and her co-host James Franco were ready to pat themselves on the back for a job well done.

Anne was later seen partying up a storm at the Weinstein after-party, throwing back champagne and dancing animatedly with a borrowed Oscar statuette.

But as the actress toasted her hosting gig, critics were already writing up scathing reviews of her and co-host James Franco's 'clumsy and downright painful' skits.

It had been hoped that employing Anne and James as hosts for this year's Academy Awards would give the ceremony a young and fresh feel.

But despite bringing their considerable comedic talents to the plate while presenting the Academy Awards, using skits and montages to add to their hosting duties, the pair's performance was met with mixed critical reception.

The 83rd Academy Awards opened with a montage of Hathaway and Franco delving into the mind of former Oscar winner Alec Baldwin in an Inception-inspired moment, narrated by the smooth-voiced Morgan Freeman.

And things continued to get more and more surreal, as the pair poked fun at The King's Speech, which took home four Oscars, The Fighter and True Grit, as well as The Social Network and Back to the Future.

Hathaway also returned to her former duty at the Oscars in 2009 when she joined then-host Hugh Jackman for a duet to open the show.
