So perhaps it makes sense that Reese Witherspoon would want her honeymoon with Jim Toth to be the same.
Whatever the reason, the 35-year-old newlywed and her husband were joined by her 11-year-old daughter Ava and Deacon, seven, as they flew off for a romantic break in Belize this week.
According to a blog by a flight attendant the family sat happily together, with make-up free Reese acting like any other mother as she tended to her 'really nice and well-behaved' children.
Reese and Toth's idyllic Californian wedding last month was also family-focused.
'It was always Reese and Jim and Ava and Deacon,' a guest told America's People magazine. 'The kids were included in everything. It was very sweet.
'They were super excited to be part of their mum's day.'
The children, from Reese's first marriage to Ryan Phillippe, 36, are said to 'adore' their new step-father.
Following the wedding the actressdidn't stop for a honeymoon and got straight back to work promoting her upcoming drama, Water for Elephants.
But it seems that the honeymoon wasn't cancelled, but simply postponed.
